Mobility Training

At A Step Ahead, we recognize that successful patient rehabilitation requires more than delivering a prosthesis and providing basic gait training.  Rather, the help of a team of trained professionals is critical in achieving good outcomes.

We know that a knowledgeable and experienced physical therapist gives patients the best possible chance of maximizing their functional level.

Qualified physical therapists work with our patients to increase their flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular capacity, while also providing intensive gait training that goes "beyond the basics". Physical therapists teach skills and provide patient education that even the best prosthetists cannot.

That is why A Step Ahead's facility houses Mobility Physical Therapy, LLC, owned and operated by Phil Kreuter, P.T., a licensed physical therapist with more than 18 years experience working with amputees.  For information about Mobility Physical Therapy and Phil Kreuter, click here.  Of course, if you choose to receive physical therapy elsewhere, our prosthetists will work with your PT, providing them prosthetic support and advice for your benefit.

We know that a comprehensive approach to treatment is best for you.  Coordinating your rehabilitation with a physical therapist is part of the basic package of services that you should expect to receive and that A Step Ahead actually delivers.
