As an A Step Ahead patient, you are part of a community. We keep you up to date about what is going on in that community, providing you with a monthly newsletter – “Live Life Without Limitations” which contains important information about A Step Ahead, insurance issues, upcoming events, new advances in the prosthetic industry, as well as highlighting our patients' accomplishments. We encourage all of our patients to participate in monthly Mobility Clinics. Mobility clinics are designed to assist you in walking, running and other physical activities in a relaxed non-clinical setting. These clinics are held on a local track and directed by David Balsley, P.T. and Phil Kreuter, P.T., physical therapists and coaches who have over 30 years of experience working with amputees at all levels, from teaching you how to walk to coaching elite athletes. There is no cost to participate, and you get the opportunity to work with an expert so that you can live a healthier, active life. The clinics are open to all amputees regardless of age, level of amputation and ability level. The Mobility Clinic also creates an opportunity for you to meet other amputees and their family members outside of a prosthetic facility.

We provide information to our patients about local support groups and encourage participation in these groups. These groups provide information and guidance to amputees of all ages. For those unable to travel to support group meetings, we provide information regarding on-line meetings sponsored by the Amputee Coalition of America, the only national not-for-profit organization representing amputees interests. Benefits of ACA membership include subscription to In Motion, a bimonthly magazine addressing issues of interest to amputees.
 
We are also a lifetime member of the Eastern Amputee Golf Association. In conjunction with that membership, we sponsor the A Step Ahead Golf team to participate in local and regional tournaments.
