What Are Our Core Beliefs?
The church believes in the verbal inspiration of Holy Scripture and teaches from it the truth according to God's Holy Word. We believe the Bible to be inerrant and infallible and teach from it:
1. The Eternal Godhead exists in three persons and yet one. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:18-20; John 1:1-4)
2. That man was created in the image and likeness of God and is naturally depraved because of Adam's sin. (Genesis 1:26-27, Romans 3:9-23; Romans 5:12-19)
3. That owing to this universal depravity and death in sin, no one can enter into the kingdom of God unless he is born again. (John 3:1-18; Titus 3:5, I Peter 1:23)
4. That such regeneration is made possible through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14)
5. That men who receive the Lord Jesus Christ are "sealed by the Spirit of promise which is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession. (John 1:12, Ephesians 1:12-14)
6. That men thus sealed are indwelt by the Spirit and have a responsibility of being filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 5:28)
7. That upon receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior we are baptized by the Holy Spirit into His body. (I Corinthians 12:12-31, Ephesians 1:22-23)
8. That "the grace of God teaches us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts we should live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world" through our yieldness to the Holy Spirit as we look for the blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior, Jesus Christ. (Titus 2:11-14; Ephesians 5:18, Galatians 5:16-25)
