Activities The focus of Abilene Bible Church is upon the teaching of the Word of God. Although other activities are included, they are designed to enhance the teaching ministry, and every attempt is made to schedule activities in such a way that they do not interfere with family life.
Worship services are conducted each Sunday at 10:45 a.m.
The Lord's Supper is observed in each Sunday morning service. Baptism is administered during worship services upon the request of those meeting the Scriptural requirements.
Special music is presented by the choir or individual musicians in the worship services from time to time at the descretion of the music director.
Sunday School meets each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. with classes provided for various ages based on school grade levels. Adult classes are also provided.
Meetings for our High School Youth (grades 9-12) are scheduled each week and special recreational activities for them are planned througout the year. Notices for those events will appear in the Sunday bulletin.
Adults and children are encouraged to memorize the Word of God and to participate in such programs as Bible Memory Association, Awana and/or other similar groups. Our Awana program is designed for children from age 3 through 8th grade.
There are many other opportunities for worship, fellowship, and service. These include men's prayer breakfast, choir, Bible studies, prayer meeting, supper club, vacation Bible school, Awana and the like.
Periodically, the times of such ministries may change due to different circumstances. Therefore, a schedule of opportunities for ministries is posted each week in our bulletin for your convenience. | |
